Bodega Jable de Tao, which also trades as TAO Viticultores, is a Lanzarote winery focused on expressing the island's different soils through its wines. Its plots combine jable sand, volcanic material and mixed profiles, giving rise to labels such as Chupadero, Tenesar, La Diego, Tao Paraje, Blanco, Tinto and Contradicción. The material available highlights Malvasía Volcánica and Listán Negro. Contradicción 2024 is fermented in clay tinaja and aged in 500-litre barrels; the vines are around 150 years old and the wine is made in a tiny run of 650 bottles, with no temperature control. This is a place for travellers who want to get closer to Lanzarote's vineyard work and taste site-driven wines rather than a large-scale winery experience. Public information does not set out regular tours or tastings, so ask before travelling if you want to visit. It is worth the detour if you are curious about island viticulture and small-batch winemaking.
