The Lanzarote wine guide

What opens on Sunday in Lanzarote (wine)

Nine wine addresses open on Sunday: three wineries, all of them in La Geria, and six wine shops and bars spread around the island.

Of the 36 wine businesses on the island with published hours, 9 open their doors, 27 close and another 23 publish no hours anywhere. Sunday scrambles Lanzarote's wine week, so the day off gets planned against habit: first you check what is open, then you choose. The good part is that what stays open is not the tail end. All three wineries open in La Geria, the capital has a midday vermouth bar and the night ends in Playa Blanca.

Hours as of October 2026. Public holidays bring no list of their own: the special schedule, when there is one, gets published by each house on its website, as Rubicón does with its Christmas calendar.

La Geria: Sunday's three wineries

The three sit on the same road, the one that crosses the area, and that makes the day easy: one drive covers the three visits. The landscape does not take the day off: pits dug into the ash, semicircular stone walls against the trade winds and vines where nothing seems able to grow. It is terrain that asks you to get out of the car, and on Sunday there is time to spare for it.

Bodegas Rubicón opens every day from 10:00 to 18:30, and Sunday is no exception. Entry to the grounds is free, as the house itself announces, and at the tavern you can have something before or after the visit. The guided visit, Entre Muros y Viñedos Centenarios, leaves at 13:30 every day: 45 minutes for 22 €, with entry at 5 € for minors from 11 to 17. The house asks you to book ahead.

Bodega La Geria is the one with the most reviews of the nine, 4,036 on Google. Sunday does change its hours: it opens at 11:00 and closes at 19:00, one hour less at each end than from Monday to Saturday. According to its website, the guided visits and the wine tours run daily. Three notices change the plan: places go on sale 12 days before the chosen date, the route is not accessible for anyone who walks with difficulty, and groups of more than eight people arrange things by email.

Bodega Stratvs repeats its hours all seven days of the week, from 10:00 to 19:00: Sunday is one more day. Its website places it inside the Barranco del Obispo, next to Timanfaya. The winery was born in 2008 around a traditional Canarian house from 1730, today turned into its shop. The daily guided visit runs about an hour and ends with three wines and artisan cheeses from Finca de Uga, with booking on the winery's own website. The music stays on Saturday: the Maridaje Sonoro plays from 13:00 to 15:30 that day, so the Sunday plan is the winery and its shop.

El Grifo closes the whole weekend, the same as Vega de Yuco, Vulcano or La Florida. Among open wineries, Sunday has nothing outside La Geria.

Arrecife: midday at Strava

In the capital only Strava - Vermuteria opens, from 12:00 to 17:00. Midweek the house works from 13:00 to 22:30, Wednesday to Saturday, and Monday and Tuesday it closes altogether, so Sunday falls right in the middle of the vermouth bar's working week. It has built up 1,230 reviews on Google with a 4.6, more than any other wine shop on the list. Its website is being redesigned, so the hours are best confirmed by phone: 928 02 15 63. The rest of Arrecife's wine addresses disappear that day: Katu and El Vino de Fran, which do open on Saturday, and Territorio Sibarita, which runs from Monday to Saturday.

The other five, from morning to night

Vinos y + La Villa, in the old town of Teguise, packs its Sunday into the morning: from 9:00 to 14:00. It is the first to open on the whole list, and there is a logic to it, because it closes on Saturday and this is its strong day. The rest of the week it runs from 10:30 to 19:30.

BAR FUSIÓN MAYOR 22 is the bar of the list, on Playa Honda's Calle Mayor. On Sunday it goes from 12:00 to 18:00, quite a lot less than the rest of the week: from Monday to Thursday up to 22:00, Friday and Saturday up to 22:30. It has no website and only four reviews, although all four leave the score at 5.0. It is the least proven bet of the nine.

VinosLuci, in Tahiche, keeps the same short window every day: from 16:00 to 18:30. It is the late-afternoon plan, halfway between Arrecife and Teguise, and on Sunday it does not move either.

El Lagar De Baco, in Playa Blanca, is the one that holds out at night: from 12:00 to 23:00 all seven days. On its Facebook page they present themselves as a wine shop and restaurant, with tapas, Canarian and international cooking and music. Among the addresses with published hours, nothing else is left open on the island when night falls, so when your Sunday comes down to dinner with wine, this is the place.

Bodega Los Almacenes marks the northern point: it opens every day from 10:00 to 18:00 in Haría, and up north there is nothing else. Almost nothing about the house is publicly known, its Facebook page does not answer and its visits remain unconfirmed. On Google it adds up 495 reviews with a 4.5.

In Puerto del Carmen, Sunday is no day for wine: La Rika, the place of the wine and tapas nights, closes, and the other addresses of the area do the same.

A plan for wherever you are

If Sunday is your vineyard day, La Geria has the full package: the guided visit at Rubicón, the hour at Bodega Stratvs with its three wines at the end, or Bodega La Geria if the afternoon suits you better. If you are around the capital, midday belongs to Strava and there is no stretching it: it closes at five. For dinner, Sunday points to El Lagar De Baco, in Playa Blanca. And if you are up north, Los Almacenes is the door, with its visits still unconfirmed.
