La Geria is the heart of Lanzarote wine: a valley of black ash with thousands of hand-dug pits, each vine sheltered from the wind by a crescent of stone. This route covers four visitable wineries from north to south, to see how malvasía is made in very different places: the historic estate, the small family cellar and the one that opens its vineyard to visitors.

You can visit Lanzarote wineries without hiring a car. The Intercity bus crosses the island and stops within a ten-minute walk of several wine businesses: wineries, wine shops and the odd wine bar. This route orders them by stop so it can be done in a day, using the lines and timetables published by the operator. It is the choice for anyone travelling alone, not driving, or unwilling to drive after a tasting.

The route links six visitable wineries across both areas, north to south, with time to eat along the way.
